About Me

Jane
I love caring for people and advocating for those who can’t help themselves. I started taking care of my elderly aunts when I was 25 years old - I am now 66. I volunteered for the March of Dimes for 9 years, support the Ronald McDonald House; became involved with the National Stroke Assn after being a caregiver for my mother when she had a stroke September 1999 and subsequently died October 31, 2000. From the experience I developed my web site and wrote the book “God is in the Room at the end of the Hall” which is in the process of being published. There were stops and starts in writing the book due to “life”. My father became ill and also died; I became ill, hospitalized and contracted MRSA twice. The rehab took2 ½ years. Shortly after I returned home, I was found to have breast cancer. I had a mastectomy and am currently receiving chemotherapy. These challenges only made me more determined to continue my caregiving in what new ways come before me. My caring for others is my reason to live and to do God's work. The newest challenge is advocating for an electronic care medical history bracelet - for more information, please contact me.
